Jacksonville FOP Endorses Angela Corey
For State Attorney in 2008 Race
Jacksonville - A press conference was held Friday to announce the endorsement of the Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police.
Members of the Jacksonville FOP unanimously endorsed Angela Corey for State Attorney on August 21, 2007 at a regularly scheduled meeting. Representing almost three thousand active and retired Jacksonville police officers, correctional officers and sworn bailiffs, Lodge 5-30 is the largest law enforcement organization in the State of Florida and the 7th largest FOP lodge in the United States.
Corey, a 25 year veteran of the state attorney’s office and formerly the leading murder prosecutor of Duval County, says she is honored by the endorsement. “The members of the FOP are among my most valued and respected supporters. I have worked with these officers for many years and their confidence in my ability is a huge compliment”, said Corey.
“Angela Corey is our overwhelming choice for State Attorney” said Nelson Cuba, President of FOP Lodge 5-30 and National Trustee for the State of Florida FOP. “Our members agree that she is the only choice to lead the prosecutor’s office. We have the utmost confidence in her ability to work with law enforcement to restore safety to our community.”
This is Corey’s second important endorsement, as in an unprecedented move, the Republican Party of Duval County voted to endorse Corey’s candidacy last June.
