Corey has immense support
In Ron Littlepage's recent column, Jimmy Ray Bob, "the guru of all things political," discussed the race for state attorney.
He was right on the mark when he said, "There are plenty of people in the legal community who think Angela Corey would be a disaster."
The criminal defense attorneys think that, of course, because they know she will be toughest state attorney they have ever faced.
They also know she can't be corrupted, and that fact really scares them.
Jimmy Ray was also right on when he said Jay Plotkin cannot win this race.
Corey's grass-roots support is evidenced by the unprecedented 10,000 candidate petitions she collected from the voters of the 4th Judicial Circuit.
As a grass-roots activist, I have never been witness to such a tremendous level of grass-roots support for any candidate.
Collecting that many voter signatures is a reflection of the passion Corey engenders in the grass-roots volunteers and the voters.
I have advice for anyone who is thinking of getting in this race. Don't waste your time and money.
The voters of the 4th Judicial Circuit know that this race for state attorney is as important to our community as the presidential race is to our nation.
And as all the many individuals and organizations that have endorsed Corey know, her tough conservative law-and-order values are just what this community needs.
